WILDFLOWER

"Sydney is a 15 years old girl forced to get back in the US and to go live with her aunt and uncle. Her father, who was an army general, died during an army test and her mom died when she was 3, so aunt Blanche and uncle Dean are the only family she has left.

Uncle Dean is an alcoholic (he started drinking after his daughter Bethany died years ago) and is very rude both to his wife and to his niece. That's why Sydney does everything she can to stay out of that house as long as possible, by volunteering at the local library…and there she met Lexy, the ultimate school troublemaker!
Lexy Heller isn't a bad girl, she only wants to get his fathers attention, but Max Heller is a billionaire and, even if he loves his daughter with all his heart, he has to stay away from home for long periods.
With these difficult families relationships, Sydney and Lexy quickly become friends and will help each other facing the situations that eventually will come.
"Wildflower" is a very well written book, the author's decision of covering all characters point of views (and not just Sydney) was a good call, so the reader has the possibility of knowing better all the circumstances. The story is intriguing and the relationships between characters are detailed and precise."

"I have read other books by Alexandra Forry and she again captures the magic of knowing how to put captivate the reader. If you have not read this or her other books, I highly recommend that you treat yourself and I know you will love it."  ~ Ronald Fino, author of The Tralge Exit,   3/14/2014

TIMELESS OMERTA

"The Timeless Omerta by Alexandra Forry covers the activities of the Chicago and Las Vegas mobs, with Chicago being the power center. This story includes murder, love affairs, and how the actions of the mob fathers dictated the future of their children. Beginning with the death of Gus, aged 80, we become entrenched in this mobster’s past marriage and the love affair and lust for power that eventually caused him and his good friend Tony to become bitter enemies. Tony, the already married Las Vegas mob boss in the 70’s, dared to fall in love with Gus’s wife, Evelyn, ignoring one of the number one rules of the mob punishable by death: never take another man’s wife. Victor, the son of Tony, and Andriane, the daughter of Evelyn, want no part of the mob life but decide to get to the bottom of why and how both of their parents were killed by mob goons. During this journey, they discover feelings that have been buried since they knew each other as teens. The author fluctuates between the past, following the lives of Tony and Evelyn, with the present as Tony and Andriane ponder if they are destined in love the same as their parents were. Secrets come to light as Gus’ funeral brings Al, former right-hand man to Tony, to San Diego to see Victor. Al feels so guilty about going into hiding after the mob ordered a hit on Tony and he feels that it is now time to make things right. When the Las Vegas mob demands a meeting with Victor, the moves to where the story began for Tony and Evelyn. New family members show up, the real story of how Tony and Evelyn died comes to light, and there is a suicide. The story ends as Victor and Adriane vow to leave the past behind them. I liked this book because of the forbidden love and mob components. I lost track of some conversations a couple of times, but I was able to follow the story without losing the meaning as a whole. Once I finished, I knew exactly how awesome and powerful the word “omerta” can be. I recommend this book to anyone who likes the criminal element mixed with romance."

TROOP 470

"Author Alexandra Forry's journey from adult romance to children's literature is a delightful exploration of an idyllic childhood in a small Oregon town, just outside Portland. In the best sense of word, innocence, Ms. Forry, in Troop 470, paints a beautiful picture of a child's life, not often seen in this modern world of "stranger danger" and suspicion. The Chloe, Mia, and Madison characters represent the rich international fabric of these United States. The two adults, Bill and Margaret Hanson, represent all that is good, generous and kind about our country. Margaret Hanson guides her little Girl Scout Troop 470 through our Native American heritage than our European cultural influences via the Portland Art Museum and the Portland Russian Ballet. And for a little drama, a local man comes to the rescue when their bus driver breaks his arm. If you are looking for a positive and fun-filled book for children, I suggest that Troop 470 is as Goldilocks once said, "just right."

PIT BOSS: AN NOVEL

"This page-turner is an organized crime story with romance intertwined. Ricky Ricotta is the Mob boss of Las Vegas and also functions as a pit boss in the casino of the glamorous Pompilius Palace. Business is good and cash is flowing into Ricky’s pockets from legal and illegal activities.
However, Ricky is surrounded by treacherous family members. He hasn’t had relations with his wife Felicia in a long time and she is sleeping with other men. His uncle Frank and brother Al are jealous of him and have come to despise him. Working together they plot Ricky’s downfall.
In the midst of dealing with his problems a beautiful widow named Tessa Evans is hired as a desk clerk at the Pompilius. When she and Ricky meet in an elevator the attraction is immediate. Tessa is unaware of Ricky’s organized crime ties and before long they fall in love. Ricky divorces Felicia and it appears a wedding is in their future. There is only one problem: Tessa despises mobsters because her father was murdered by one, and Ricky was the killer.
You’ll enjoy the characters and the scenarios as the story of Ricky and Tessa unfolds."
